This directory contains a Firefox 1.0.1 kit in 7Zip self-extracting archive format with Timeline enabled. This can be used to diagnose startup performance problems or just be used to see how long it takes to start Firefox up and see what it's doing during startup. Run the executable and supply a directory to put the kit in. Then create a console window (sometimes called an MS-DOS Window), cd to where you unpacked the kit and type firefox -console. You may want to add the -Profilemanager switch if you want the profile manager to come up. Note that you should do a set NS_TIMELINE_ENABLE=1 at the command line before starting up Firefox (or you get no output). For full details on the using the Timeline feature, see http://www.mozilla.org/performance/measureStartup.html (How to Measure and Analyze Startup Performance).
